Who do you rate as the 3 best pro's ever and any reasons why you think these. By listing 3 it limits the bjorn/robby is better arguments, i had this argument with my mate for years so i'm over it. This topic is on starboard but it could be regional so how does seabreeze vote.

My list consists of whom I regard the best all-round sailors of all time, no one-discipline wonders here...

1. Bjorn Dunkerbeck- Robby might be the king but the boss is like god, all seeing, all knowing and all conquoring.

2. Robby Naish- no explanation necessary for his place in this list. Brownie points deducted for being a teabagger and help bringing it to the masses .

3. Robert Teritehau- from out of left field a bit but awesome in all disciplines and placed near the top for so very long & king of indoor.

So have your vote

How could the list leave off the current sail powered water speed record holder, Finian Maynard?

Hats off to that guy, anyone who can make a windsurfer go faster than any boat deserves big respect in my book

And if you read the reports on ContinentSeven
www.continentseven.com/ you can see that he's still going strong...

Each discipline has it's boy wonders, but to me the best windsurfer is the most rounded. No doubt finian goes very fast but in slalom he tends to crash alot, what good is being able to go faster than anyone else when you're in the water

1. Bjorn Dunkerbeck

2. Robby Naish

I agree with those two. No one else in the sport comes close to the domination/achievements or versatility these two blokes had/have.

My number 3 is Jason Polakow. Sure he's a wave specialist but imo he's the best wave sailor of all time and certainly heavily influenced the development of wave sailing.

And I'm going to add a 4th :P

Ricardo Camplello - I reckon these days he has his work cut out as there are so many young kids/good freestyle sailors. Still, he invented half the moves that are done today and his creativity and domination of freestyle drove it to where it is today.

If most rounded is the criteria, then I'm definately at the top of the list ... for being round that is

Mr Slave you'll notice this has to do with WINDSURFING.

Bjorn
Robby
Matt Pritchard

I say Matt as others have listed wavesailors.... yes J.P and Robert Teritehau (sp?) are bloody good, but neither any good at racing and slalom. Matt has taken a world championship on the back of great wavesailing plus solid racing.

Matt and Kevin only came to the fore-front of racing since the team was formed, but yes they are both incredibly talented sailors. Robert finished top 5 in course and slalom for many years, he was more hindered by his anger and willingness to run into people than lack of talent.

wazza is no doubt the king of everything in my books, ricardo's a fag, if you came within 10metres of the kid you would relise. polakow is and all round champ has time 4 any1 and is unbeatable on his worst of days at ho'okipa. i always liked watching doogs sail.everybody knows if he had of done it professionally he would have gone a very long way.

Sorry MK disagree. Robert is bloody good because he is a sick ****er in the waves..... but he didn't win as many races as Matt Pritchard has. Matt is better all round at a hi level proven by results.

Here is a true story, in which a couple of sea breezians will be able to back me up.

Once Bjorn was asked a similar question at a pary on maui. His reply Brett Goodwin.

Brett just sailed for the fun of it. Never competed and was the most radical and talented wavesailor ever.

Yep, when it comes to disciplines like wave sailing, "results" don't necessarily tell the whole story!

I mentioned "results" to counter the argument that Robert is 3rd.... poster said he had done OK in racing as well as his (famous) wavesailing. I meant that Matt has WON racing not just done OK.......... I did not mean to say that there is not bloody good sailors who've never competed

years ago we nicknamed brett goodwin "slasher"
at many wavesailing meets he was the rippin bloke. but there were also heaps of talented guys and even a few rippin girls!
i guess the top three windsurfers is a bit of an uncontestable thing except for third place and even first and second could be swapped by opinion.
i liked seeing pat redman at margs a coupla years ago! faaaarkinell!!!

Josh Adams deserves a mention. I don't know what he was like in other wave conditions, and I don't think he raced (which gives him bonus points in my book!), but at least in smallish lefthand bearaways no one else came close.
I don't suppose anyone would know how to get hold of that video of him in WA from the late 80s?
