I've seen a few of these around. The broken car has made me realise that I need a back up...

Does anyone know:

-What style of trailer is the most effective?
-Which materials are the best to use (and cheapest)?
-Which wheels are the best?
-How you attach it to the bicycle?
-The best way to shade the kit when on the trailer?
-Where you get cheap Bicycles?

I have a 91 litre board (244cms)(no bag), 2 sails, 2 masts, boom and all the fixings to carry somehow...

Any advice/pictures would be hugely appreciated

I found this on a Dutch website:

A special bike trailer. It might give you an idea what to look for.
Don't know though if you can find it here in Perth.
Bicycle shops (TBE being one of them) sell little trailers to put kids in. They have special towbars that attach below your seat at the back of your frame. So that might answer your "How to attach question".

i've had one made out of square tube steel and then modified it and it needs more modifications. remember it has too be as low as possible and wheels as wide apart as possible, or it will tip over while u are riding.

u can use a long straight bit, a cross bar in the middle and a cross bar at the end. two small wheels - kids bike wheels . the trick is either to weld the wheel axle on the the cross bar or attach forks to the rear cross bar and the other trick is the attachement to the bike. an old mast base was one idea. I can send photo, and have photo of a better bought model I saw at scarborough.

waveslave is your man, he's made a ripper for his daughter to take her surfboard to the beach, plugs onto the bike with an old windsurfing mast connector.
