G'Day Hayden,
Are you you likely to get back down here soon??? We can do it together if you like. It's a bit tricky if you haven't done it before, esin thickness is critical, too much soaks up heaps of sugar, not enough, sugar doesn't stick!
If you're determined to have a go, sand the old stuff off by hand, with about 100 grit paper.
Be very careful if you don't want to mess up the graphics/paint job.
Tape out the places you don't want grip, rails, footpads etc. Thickness of resin is all in the brushing technique, I normally put it on a tad thick, then brush the surplas off, wiping brush on tin with each stroke. That way you can get it nice and even. About 150 gm of resin should be enough for a wave board. I've punched some holes in an old milo tin as a sugar shaker. Keep sprinkling till the sugar stays white, (stops soaking up resin) wait for it to go good and hard (overnight) then wash off.

i had a slalom board i regripped once. I used table salt instead of sugar. One week later i had holes beneath every toe in my booties, and no skin left on the bottom of my feet.

I think suger is better.

Whats the trick to not having the resin turn yellow after a month of UV exposure?

For an average wave board use no more than 45ml of U.V. resistant resin,1 cup of caster sugar and a small 75mm roller from bunnings I usually charge $50

if i were you id save alot of time and hassle and even a possible cock up of your board and pay someone like bluejuice whos done it a million times $50 to make it as new
and if it turns out to be a !@#$ job you have someone to blame

Wow Greeny, what a mind!!!!!! You blow me away!!!

And yes I gave haydz a grip lesson, so if anybody in Perth needs one done, see him. I'm sure he'd love to practise on your board!!
