If you paid for this (non)service with your regular credit card, then one legal avenue would be to indicate intention to, and ultimately proceed with a complaint through the credit card provider. As a credit card merchant, pixelmags would have agreed to a certain code of conduct, business and ethical obligations, as well as security practices. As an example, one could google "MasterCard Merchant Rules" - not providing an advertised service may be a breach of the definition "bona fide business". A threat to any online business's credit card accreditation is likely to be taken seriously.

I'm not sure how it would work if the payment was through a third party such as PayPal or iTunes. There is likely to be a similar agreement in place though...

So I have been trying to get a refund on my recently renewed electronic subscription to boards. After getting the run around from, pixelmags and iTunes, being ignored by boards for days, I was finally sent an email from pixelmags today saying that because Boards have decided not to publish any future mags my subscription can be transfered to another publication or used buy old issues of boards!?!

Wtf .... Just give me my money back!

I wonder what the law is in regards to this, and to the fact that pixelmags is still selling 6/12 issue subscriptions whilst being aware that they are never going to be able to follow through on the deal?
