Hey guys, looking at getting a smaller board down sizing from my 145 litre Mistral Explosion just to better my skills, new to windsurfing and the guys where i windsurf reckon it's time to progress to a smaller board. I'm looking for something cheap and my local dealer has a Bombora 270 board. Aparently within the 100 - 110 litre area. anybody heard of one or sailed one?? And is it a good board for $200..BTW I have been looking for a board on this site but it's not worthing buying a 200 dollar board to pay up to 200 dollars to get it to Darwin.
Cheers TC

I owned a Bombora 270 for a long time, since new. The good things about it are its robustness and its speed.
Gybing is okay but not as easy on the new style of short wider boards.
I found it tended to hunt for direction in lighter winds.
I sold it on eBay.
I suggest you try one out before putting down $200 on it. I know the dealer has to make money on the sale so try it out before you buy.

My Bombora 270 is now a tree house for the kids. I got a near new formula board for $100 (asked around at the sailing spots), very fast and easy. Also got an AHD wave board for $200 in pretty good nic (shop in Fremantle). If you look around you can get a lot better than the bombora for that money.

$200 would have to be top dollar for a bombora 270.
$100 would still be top dollar but if it's in good shape it might be worth it.
I suppose it all depends on what the choices are up there.
