Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the 'Bombora 272 zot' board, as i have picked one up for next to nothing in good condition but cant find any specs on it like volume or recomended sail size.

Cheers,

I have one of those, Volume around 90L, slalom board, reasonably quick and pretty much unbreakable, downside is weight as they are a plastic board.

Sail size prob 4.5 to 6.5

Cheers

I have one but its hanging up in my parent's shed. Its a fast board but very old style. Lots of volume up front and tapering away in the tail. Its difficult to gybe and don't fall on the rails as they are very sharp. I stopped using my Zot when I bought a Bombora 270 which was a far better board.

If you got it for next to nothing, just see how it goes.

I used to sail a Zot about 15 years ago!, Cannot break them but check the deck as allot of Bombora's delaminated around the heels etc. Very quick board, narrow, hard to gybe in an old school way. Enjoy the straight lines you will travel.

I was told the company has taken this form as an importer:
www.windgenuity.com.au/

They still make the Windsurfer One Design which is probably the cheapest new board you can buy.

OK, thanks. Sorry about getting it wrong.
*Wonders why it took so long before someone corrected*

originally, all the bombora boards were produced in the same factory as the windsurfer one design - ie at windgenuity

Dunno what sort of speed but I reckon you could get 30 knots on it. I am pretty sure I got up to those sort of speeds back then.
I used to sail mine at Windang and Warilla. It was was no good at riding waves but was great for blasting in and out.

It was good blasting and seeing the kangaroo on the front.
