Hi all,
I am looking at getting back into sailboarding. Have the sails and carbon fibre mast from years ago but need a board. I am 6 foot 6" and am around 100kg. Do you think that a Bombora 295 would be suitable? For bay/lake sailing or ocean chop I guess
Or if you can suggest any other board that might be suitable?
Thanks

There are plenty of cheap boards around which would be a little more modern and suitable.
But I guess in the end if it's very cheap everything is fun & works.

Phantom2,
I bought one of those for my 'comeback', but ended up selling it and getting a more modern board. The difference was huge. Those old plastic fantastics are good for the kids to play on, or leave at a holiday house where visitors are going to trash it, but you can't beat a modern epoxy board for performance.
What to get? There are a heap of modern freeride boards that would be suitable and can be picked up quite cheaply second hand. Depends on your skill level - uphauling, waterstarting, range of sails to use?
So far as your size and weight, the 295 would be fine, but you wouldn't want to be paying much for it. Could be a very cheap way to start up again while you consider what you might get next.

Harrow.
