Off down south on Saturday (heading to Botany) - hopefully it will be as windy as forecast.

Where will people be sailing in a W/SW/S wind? I've only sailed up the road from Brighton-le-sands.

Any advice appreciated!

Cheers

In a westerly you can either head to Kurnell, Foreshore Road, or La Perouse.

SW is good at eith Foreshore or La Perouse.

S is great for B&J sailing at Kyeemagh.

Forecast still looks good right now. Then again it seems to always look good 3-4 days out.

All the best.

Sam.

Thanks Sam

Would Kyeemagh be good in a SW? Where on Foreshore Drive do you launch?

Kyeemagh gets a little too offshore in SW.

The place to sail on Foreshore road is just in behind the runway. Great spot to go fast in some pretty flat water but if you want some chop to play in head around to La Perouse. Foreshore can also have it's share of weird characters in the bushes so probably better to sail with someone else.

Forecast is still good 3 days out so keep your fingers crossed.

Sam.

Ben, if Saturday is as good as the forecast shows, you won't need to wonder where to go - just follow the crowd!!! I'm guessing EVERYONE will be out, it's been so long since a decent blow. Check out Kyeemagh first, and if it's tending off-shore and no-one is there, then just head 'round to Foreshore Drive, only 5 minutes away. You'll see where all the guys have their cars parked unloading their gear and walking through the scrub to the beach.

General rule is S to SSW Kyeemagh, SW to W Foreshore Drive. The real trick is to pick if the wind is going to swing from one to the other as it sometimes seems to do.

Hope to see you there. Come up and say G'day if you see my Loft sails. (The ones with the long silver reflective panels.)

Regards,
Harrow.

Hi Harrow,
Thanks for the advice - I'll keep a look out for your loft sails. I'll be on an old F2 Wave or 108 Free-sex.
Hopefully see you there.

Aauugghhh. Looks like it's arrived early. I should have checked the forecast before I got into work and taken the day off instead.

It better still be around tomorrow. I'm gonna get out there early !!

Crash, yeah, that was me with the flouro orange arms on my wetsuit. Were you there?

I turned up and the wind dropped just as I got in. After slogging out and back twice I gave up and got out. Wind picked up as I started to de-rig, but I had time constraints. Total wasted trip. Looks like Sunday was probably better, but I was riding miniature steam trains at Blaxland at a 2 year old's birthday party.

Harrow,

I was out - with a simmer wave sail and yellow free-style board. Had some good runs but needed to do a fair bit of pumping to get going. I'll say hello next time i'm out that way!

Wetsuit didn't quite match the very nice kit you had!
