You wouldn't believe it. I was rigging my new formula 9.5 sail on the front lawn over the weekend. I had just fitted on the cam above the boom and was trying to get the lower ones on when SNAP. One broken mast, about 2 ft above the boom.
I'm not shy about using carbon so I'm going to tackle the repair. My first guess is 3 layers of 200g uni's tapering out to about 20cm's either side. It is a clean break with no damage to the hoop fibres so I should only need longitudinal fibres.
Has anyone else done this repair and could pass on their experiences?
