A tall slim guy with blondish hair pulled back in a ponytail, broke the door lock off a sailors van today (in clear view of a person in the car next to him), nicked some non-windsurfing belongings, then took off in a small blue hatchback (like a suzuki swift or Charade), the car was being driven by a girl.

It seems they were sussing the place out. The thief walked over to the water to make sure the sailor was busy sailing. Unfortunately no one quite worked out what was going on till it was too late.

It is unfortunate as everyone has had a pretty good thief-free run up till now. Be good to keep an eye out for suss activity from now on

wow my insurance claim (personal belongings in locked motor vehicle) would look something like this:

1 digital video camera
36 cds in folder
1 pair of Oakley sunnies
1 watch valued at 500 bucks
1 notebook computer in carry case

yep that oughtta do it!

that really is craap behaviour by aasshole losers who assume whats yours is theres, bewarned, "THE BOGANS ARE BREEDING". I could put money on his name was Kev and hers was Shazza.

Ive heard about this happening at Dbar heaps, they spot where you hide your key, wait for you to go surfing, then rob you blind, if you are stupid enough to hide your key on your car, like under the wheelguard, kind of like hiding your front door key under the mat.

Not alot for 6 months in prison.

Lots of stories down there of people watching from buildings where surfers/swimmers put their keys.

I used to sail at the train when I was learning and always just put my stuff in a bag and left on the sand, never once was it touched (that I know of )

Now days I just put my car keys in my pocket, zip it up and go sailing. Its that easy, and before you say I can't put my fancy remote key in my pocket and sail, get a cheap stainless steel copy like I did, works fine & doesnt rust.

Although granted it doesnt stop someone watching when you get out on the water and then breaking into your car.

ooh wishing a coma on someone might be a tad harsh, Karma has already bitten them, the proof is in how they choose to live their life, would you swap?

thanks to the Dali Lama for my new calm look upon others

not a good area around here! The caravan Park where I work, (just north of the train),is a big target area for these thieves.Cars and caravans are frequently broken into ,mainly at night, people even have to lock their vans when they go to the toilets in the middle of the night or return to find wallets, mobile phones etc etc gone missing.

You're right that would be a drain on the healthcare system- cut off their hands instead.

They choose that life- choose you're path, choose you're consequences.

As if the Dalai lama would know, does he have any belongings (apart from lots of awards and doctorates).

you see, even cutting off the hands is a bit tough, but..... the thumbs, is a good idea, lets see them try the same tricks with no thumbs.

bad COMA will come to them

well it will after they spend the proceeds on too much of what they did the deed for..so be it.
