building something like this could be fun

www.turfdog.co.uk/

As far as doing modern freestyle stuff, check out the few short vids of it and it looks about as close to doing the real thing as it gets so far, without needing a sandy surface to slide the wheels sideways upon

Good lucm finindg a beach hard and wide enough to use it.
By the look sthis thing was built and designed in the UK where the beachees are so hard you can drive a 2wd car on them no roblem and the tide goes so far out your havve a good 6000 - 1500 of hard packed dirt to use.

I would say you will have to look at a different set of wheels for Aussie conditions

Good luck and post some pics of your design

one of the vids I've seen has it being used ok on grass so I'd imagine UK grass would be softer then our hardpacked QLD grass

if i ever get around to trying to build one, i'll let you know

Simon Backloop pointed that one out to me a couple of weeks ago. It definitely looks interesting but euro priced. I was wondering how you could make those casters. It's not clear whether the back wheels use a steering truck or not, hmmm... I guess they don't. I was thinking some pram wheels might do the job, or shopping trolley wheels.

Try extending the axel of a skateboard truck ,adding golf buggy wheels. For the castors.... shopping trolleys... but I didn,t tell you.
