Just wanted to thank whoever it was that suggested that i get an Aquapac for my GPS. Never paid much attention until it gets seriously windy.
After getting the catapult of the day, rag doll style (according to the boys on the beach) I surfaced from about 3 feet down, turned around to look for my gear and spotted my GPS floating about 5 feet away safely warm and dry in its Aquapac.
I realised i hit with my right shoulder and the force of the water tore it straight down my arm and off. No bag, no GPS.
The best part, turning it back on and reading 34.1 knots on the display.
So if you have a GPS put it in something that is waterproof and floats.

HEY LARKO,

RUN THE DATA THROUGH GPS ACTION REPLAY AND YOU CAN SEE HOW HIGH YOU GOT ALSO.

CHRIS LOCKWOOD HAS A TRACK SHOWING HIM GOING FROM 43ISH TO 0 IN UNDER 2 SECONDS! SPUN OUT THEN CAUGHT HIS RAIL THEN WENT CLEAN THROUGH HIS SAIL. CAME UP SMILING THOUGH.

Sambo, I just wish i could get to those speeds.
I was told I made a hole in the water that took awhile to fill back up
I dont know how long it took to come to a stop but I had to gather hat, GPS and swim to gear.
Im just so glad I came unhooked at some stage.

I use a Geko GPS and always use a aquapac after finding the data cable contacts starting to corrode.

I use the spots mini aqua pack which goes on your arm, I also have left the cord on there which i slip knot around my arm in case the Velcro lets go after a stack.

Was previously using a standard aquapac which I bunged down the front of my wettie, but stopped using after getting to many irregular readings.

Shame you lost your GPS, it's always good looking at the data and seeing how far you flew when catapulted

Thanks Elmo, I think you were one of the guys that suggested I get an Aquapac in the first place.
I didnt lose it but I was lucky that i turned around and spotted it floating. At least its proved that it floats, is water tight and pretty sturdy.
Now looking forward to some more runs on the new board.

Thats cool that it all worked out

Have you analyzed your data for your flight distance yet?
