Hi Everyone...

Been kiting for about the last 6 years... But I windsurfed for about 8 years before that...
I am moving to the central coast in nsw soon, around terrigal beach area and I am thinking of ditching the kites and getting back into the sailing... Was just wondering a few things mainly,

1, whats the conditions like up there, not terigal specificaly but the area generally.

2, is there anywhere that will hire gear, as I would like to go for a good few rides before decided to sell the kites and buy a setup...

3, Whats the scene like? pretty friendly? many people up there sailing? mostly wave sailors? or speed guys or mixture of both or??

any info would be great, esp info on places that might hire gear...

Cheers

Toowoon bay for south winds, forresters beach for ne winds, thats about all I know as not from that area. The only shop to rent gear from would be windsurf n snow in sydney.

Hi KiteAgain
Lake Munmorah works in a Southerly.Surf shop at Erina runs kitesurfing lessons at this lake or they use to.Mannering park works in a North Easterly.North end of Ettalong beach works in a Southerly.
You can sail in front of the sailing club in Gosford in a Southerly or Tascot in a North Easterly ,this is on Brisbane Waters.
You can give Greenpoint a go in a North Easterly this is on Brisbane Waters as well.
Not that many people on the coast sail which I can't explain since we are surrounded by water.Surf Shop at Erina only sells kite gear not windsurfing as this seems to be the trend.
I go to Narrabean Lake as my wife and kids are learning or sail on Lake Macquaire.
Some sailers sail off Terrigal Beach

Definately go to Toowoon Bay in any sort of south breeze, you will find plenty of sailers and kiters, on a good day there would be 10 sailers 10 kiters or more, there are plenty of us around..NE try Norah Head, Birdie Beach or as said before Forresters which is closer to you.
