I am about to replace a 2mm Polyurethane gasket that was previously adhered with epoxy glue.
Unfortunately it keeps ungluing in critical places and jams the centreboard after its been rotated up.

Have purchased 3mm Insertion Rubber strip (ie. reinforced with woven cloth through the middle).
(It seems similar stiffness/flexibility to the 2mm Polyurethane)
Am intending to adhere with contact adhesive.

All your knowledgeable advice would be kindly appreciated (eg. links to previous forum articles on similar).

currently still using gorilla tape on top since i don't like protruding centreboard
did post other suggestions tho:

two people suggested epoxy, two suggested crazy glue and two suggested marine glue/polyurethane... CAN322 will get back to me with his results. Has been glued on and now just needs to slice it down the middle and test !!

this fellow put his gorilla tape on the bottom !!

Difficult part seems to be carefully removing the remaining epoxy glue, via chisel or router, without damaging the board!

Will the 3mm 'insertion rubber' be too grippy on the centreboard, and therefore increase the jamming effect?

Contact adhesive is great for gluing rubber, and is relatively easy to remove later on, (with thinners) when I might need to replace the gasket.
But will the chemical/solvent content of contact adhesive react/damage the epoxy hull?

Hmm, just weighed the 3mm 'insertion rubber' - double the weight of 2mm polyurethane.
[1.5mm 'insertion rubber' is too floppy]

Does anyone know where to get 2mm PU (90A or 95A durometer) strip, preferably 65mm width (but wider is ok, can trim to 65)

[Hopefully a lot cheaper than $100 from the local shop - IF they've still got some - or possibly a long wait]
