Some of the crew from Australind are heading to Cervantes for speed week. I've never been there before so can anyone answer a couple of q's?

Do we need to book at the caravan park (assuming there is one) and are dogs allowed- canine type?

Is there an organised social event on Fri and Sat night?

Are kiters invited? (or do they go anyway?)

Looking forward to what sounds like a great weekend!

Yep you will need to book some where to stay. Its not dog friendly unless you book a house that allows dogs.

No kiters.

Friday and saturday night is spent talking it up at the one and only pub.

Last tip, dont drink with 25 and snides(if there is no wind), if you do it is at your own risk

Accomadation
Caravan Park for camping and caravans (I think dogs are allowed there but give them a call), there is the backpackers as well but a bit more exy.

Most people hang at the pub friday night and the presentation, if there is one is at the pub on saturday night.
The pub has recently expanded and the service at the bistro has been a bit disappointing . There will be a crew at the caravan park so you can hang there if you like.

Kiters are not discouraged at Cervantes but need to keep clear of the Speed course.
The best kiting is in Ronsard bay (onshore) or further south at Kangaroo point (sideshore, good for beginners).

Bring plenty of your favourite beverage as Cervantes has a strange effect on your thirst. (Thats why it's called Thirsty Point )

Way to early to confirm a forecast for Cervantes. 2 days out max.
With a cyclone off the coast who knows what it's gonna do.
Just HTFU and make a weekend of it. Worst scenario is enjoying a few cold ales on the beach with a few like minded souls.
See you up there
