Howdy

Have Just moved over to the sunny(but not so windy)Gold Coast.
Looking for some crew to sail with in Southport area. Flat water Blasting is my Game and I'm just after a little local knowledge - best wind direction, best spots etc. have been for a look down at southport broadwater and seen some guys out, I think it was the Train but couldn't see no train so not sure. was at the carpark where smith st comes out sort of opposite seaworld.
anyway, maybe hear from some of you

Cheers

thats the train. think there used to have a train on display there lol. but you are at the right spot and its the most popular flat water spot at goldie. just got to watch the reef which runs from shore to yellow marker (clearly sign posted. then the sandbanks n u wil b all good. wen u hav time u should come to brissy too, wellington point has great flat water too, n its probably the only spot to sail in all wind directions including a westerly!

welcome to the sunny state!

hi cliffo,
padi seems to have summed it up about the train except to mention that it works in the prevailing southerlies and northerlies throughout summer and you'd better be fast.although there is a cross section of all disciplines here and a great bunch of guys and girls.
in winter souwestas and also in summer for a bit of chop, you can go to shearwater park at runaway bay, but stay upwind of the kiters and all will be cool.
regards ian.
