Columbia? Maybe a professional coke snorting contest.
PWA wave comp in Cape Verde next month though. Good to see they're putting them in decent locations again.

yup... would love to see a PWA event down here in OZ... we sure have the conditions and it would do a lot for the sport.

We had formula worlds not long ago, did that do anything for the sport? Windsurfing is established for a long time in aus, and I doubt mainstream would pick it up. Maybe with some awesome promoters anything is possible. Whilst we'd all love to see pwa events in aus in reality it will do little- for starters our population is not dense enough and well spread out so despite our love of sports I think crowds would be relatively small.

the difference is that very few people are interested in Fomula and it's not a very exciting sport to watch. A lot of the action happens way off shore... even at a place Sylt which attracts over 30.000 people to the world cup each year Formula ranks very low in people interest.

What is required however is a luna park like experience surrounding the event... lot's of parties, events etc. etc. ... that's what draws the crowds.

Totally agree with MK7, we need to bring in big sponsors who are willing to invest, start development programs like what the RYA does (Formula Experience for example), and work from the grassroot level. Once there were over 100 competitors in Brisbane races. What happened?

I heard only 1 junior turned up for the Juniors Olympics trial for the RSX. If it was true, then there are 9 more places for the Aus team to be filled, and I think any junior who can ride the boat stands a good chance in getting in the team. Now cant say this is not an opportunity. Wish I am 18 again

Columbia? Beware of the FARK. God if I was going to start a revolutionary movement that's just what I would've called it (or something very like that). Marxists with soul...
