ragg, just re-griped NP carbon. one side when finished other side
If you do it yourself, and haven't done it before, the new grip will soak up the glue fast, so you need to be on your toes.
Make sure the join is on the out side of the boom, this prevents future hand grip and harness lines ungluing from joint if on inside.
If you get the new grip from Ian at Sail and Windsurfing centre, he will give you some tips on how to fit the new grip Hydrodynamix kit is about $30.
For mine, next time will give it to somebody who knows how

I think it is best to use the boom so that there is as little boom grip on it, pick at it, peel the stuff off, cut the stuff off then take it to someone to get the it regripped..
the hardest bit is getting the old grip off, sticking the new grip on only takes 10 minutes if not that.

I remember reading a tip about getting the old stuff off. You put the booms arms in a green garbage bag with some acetone and leave it in the sun for a while. The old grip just peels off. That said, I haven't done it and I would approach it with caution, but having once done the job of stripping a boom I'm sure I would give it serious consideration. I scraped mine off. It was a cow of a job.

sorry forgot i posted in this, it was around ahlf a year ago but what it was it was the same kind of foam on the booms and it came in a role, and you would cut it to the length you needed. you had to put the adhesive glu stuff over the bare metal, than you slide the foam over to the end, it hink i got it at sos, but it could have been the little one in claremont, it only took us 10 minutes and took overnight to dry,

i should have explained it a little better the grip doesnt roll on it slides on, and the grip came on a role.i think you can get the faom at clark ruber, but you will need to read up about the glu, i brought mine in a kit and it is working strong still, besides the middle where it didnt bond to the metal very well and it slides around

i use strapping tape. the brown stuff they use for sports injuries.

seems to work well as an interim fix as its got a rough exterior so your c#nt scratchers dont slip off... like they do with electrical tape.

Just wrap it around the bits that are rooted.

hey you can get a new grip kit, the come in a few different colours and patterns, remember the old multi coloured zebra pattern? yep still available. just get your local shop to order it. it's eazy to put on, just rub the bubbles out as you go, and remember the beveled edge goes down first.
