Not that I'm in Qld, but here in NSW, I never used to like it. It just meant that I would have to get up an hour earlier than my body wanted and it was still dark by the time I got home from work, so it was no advantage to me, it just meant I had to get up earlier.

I think if you have a job where you can take advantage of the change in time its good, but if not, its not so good.

You guys had a referendum about it didn't you? I know in WA they had at least one, and after a trial, they still don't want it. So the majority don't like it, and all jokes aside, its not the best thing for everyone.

Perfect if you can squeeze in an afternoon sail though!

Don't think 1 hour is enough, it needs to be 2.
Would be a great boost for Queenslanders to get outside,
this town (Hervey Bay) is a ghost town as soon as the sun goes down.

Don't do it. Daylight savings sucks in Southern California. It means that I have to leave work an extra hour earlier in winter if I want a quick surf after work.

An extra hour of light in the arvo means that I could have a sail on the way home from work. Bring it on !

Do you think the majority of Queenslanders want daylight savings? The fact is they have not so far. This is a reality of representative democracy when the numbers, whether people or geography are huge.

Living in SEQ during summer is a pain. Dawn breaks around 4am or something like that. By 8am its bloody hot. The only way to deal with it is create and live by your own daylight savings timezone. Negotiate around the official state sanctioned times.

+1.

Daylight arriving at 4am is a JOKE. Especially with sunset at 6pm ... if you sleep/work regular hours you barely get to do anything outside of work (thankfully I don't). Then I roll down to Sydney and sun is up around 6am and down at 8pm so you can have a decent go at enjoying your life...

WA doesn't need it, they are already 1 hour ahead of QLD in sunrise/sunset hours without it ... QLD is further north of every populated state in Australia so we need it more than everyone else.

why is the complaint always rising an hour earlier; you just go to bed an hour earlier... not rocket science.

And twice a year (or more) you can turn up late at work and blame the day light saving (personal experience)

Interesting that their earliest sunrise is 4:45am and the sunset is 6:30pm. I am one of those strange people that find it hard to wake up before the sun rises. I would love waking up at 5am and having a leisurely 2 hours before I had to catch a train. I could even live with it being dark that early.

At the moment its good for me in Sydney. I don't have to get ready and catch a train, so daylight savings is good. Its different when you lose so much time traveling to work, and in my case you can't use the time after work anyway, because its too late.

Either way, the rest of Qld must have a problem with it.

Alternately stop living your life by the clock

Throw your wrist watch in the bin

I am only good for +/- a couple of hours these days. Everyone you know soon gets used to it

Knock off at 4 and on water by 4:30 -4:45. Sail for a bit, de-rig having a frosty and then home for sunset on the deck and a BBQ.
