Just wondering what the verdict on the daylight savings trial was? Thumbs up or thumbs down? or

In case you're interested (probably not), you can attribute the introduction of DST in Oz on the big drought in the 1950's. Apparently the Tasmanian Hydro-Electric Commission was worried about the low water levels in their lakes, so got the government to introduce it so that there would be less electricity usage due to people not having to turn their lights on as early. So there you go. Something good actually came out of a drought.

Fits for my work as well.
Concept originally came from Mother England during one of the WW's, cant remember which one, not that it matters how when or why.
Disappoints me when we get the Pollies blathering on and on about it. They are only driven by the lobby groups.
Bit like the latest crap being bandied about. After hours trading First up the Ex Lib Premier Vic makes a big noise about Perth being dull colourless and boring, Low and behold next thing (and only a coinsedance mind) the Nats and Libs blathering about deregulation re shopping hours. Hullooooooo ya clowns[}:)]
