Just wondering if anyone has any damaged sails lying around that I could buy cheap as I'm looking to learn to do some sail repairs.

I have one, but it's a long way to Victoria, and it would be a challenge, the sail has split inside the luff sleeve just below the boom

I had a 9.5 raceboard sail that blew out the window and ripped clew apart. . Just jumped into it, nothing to lose right. It worked out really well still using that sail now.

I also ripped a 4mtr length of suncover off my boats genoa. 8k for a new sail, it was getting pretty old so not worth paying to get it fixed so gave it a go as well. Sail is still on the boat and working well.

So just jump in a give it a crack is my tip. I bought a sailmate machine that has paid for itself many times over already

What sail is it as I could replace the luff sleeve most likely. Where are you located though as it might not be worth it with shipping costs or fuel costs

OK, this is better than the message system.
Here's the sail before it broke, it's my 40kt pb sail.
It's a 5.2 KA speed
I'm in Falcon, near Mandurah
I don't think it will be cheap getting to you, unless someone is traveling that way. There should be a few end of next seasons, I've heard we'll have a few visitors chasing our wind, waves and flat water

BTW, have I got the mast base too far forward here?????

This is my 5.5, is it along where the black tape is on that inside panel sort of thing?

about like this.

But the speed is different here, the luff pocket is all opaque and the cambers are smaller without string attached
