Staying in Denmark (WA)mid march onwards for a few weeks........... never sailed there before. Any advice on flat water sailing and ocean sailing (for a beginner/intermediate) would be appreciated.

Stayed down there a few times and it's a bit hard. I've never seen
anyone else out there - I've tried a few places - when the inlet is
full there is a good strip of water running roughly north/south just behind Ocean Beach but it's a bit of a chore getting out there - OK when the SW or SE blows. Other than that if you go down the river from town on Inlet Drive, passed the Caravan Park there's a little road down onto the inlet at a sign to "Public Conveniences" (what does that mean by the way - anyone) - it's a bit muddy and rocky - don't come screaming in there - the bank goes out for a 100m or so and then it deepens. If the SW blowing you can go down towards Nullaki and back - the chop gets quite big on the inlet when it's blowing.
Only time I've been near the ocean down there (or at all really) is at Parry Beach where there's a good bit of protected water between the beach and a reef that works well in a SE - and you can drive your car right down onto the beach and fall in. The rest of the ocean down there looks a bit wild - seen some surfers nearly kill themselves off Light beach in a heavy sea. If you're suicidal that's the place.
Good Luck

If you are lucky enough to get some late seabreezes, and you can, head over a bit west of walpole.... haven't done it yet but there is some awesome wave spots pretty much due south - southwest of pemberton area. The seabreeze is cross or cross off for all that section of coast
