Do you guys (meaning windsurfers) prefer to be in the river, or out the front instead? Does the massive current in the river have as much impact on you as it does us (kites)? We lose a ton of power if the tide's on the way in.....is it the same for you?

Elliot Heads sounds good, but I'm mulling over Burrum Heads for a couple of Days over Easter if BoM can be bothered to schedule a bit of wind for us.
Might see you somewhere up there Fitz if it all fits into place.
(Isn't English wonderful)

Elliot Heads, Yessss. I've never been there, always missed it. I will go by myself - boards, tent, camera, beer, toothbrush. Thanks for the timely suggestion.

Easter at elliot heads is a great getaway. With a good southeaster and high tide for some fun in the waves, and when the tide is out you have the option of flat out drag racing in the river mouth.

I know the camp site fills up - so if you're thinking of heading up give the elliot heads caravan park a call. if they are full there are plenty of sailors from brissie up their you may be able to park yourself on a site.

It is also very popular with the kiters so only head up if you can play nice.

These days, there's almost more kiters than windsurfers there over easter. It does get crowded for sure though. Bit of respect for each other and everyone gets on fine though.

Been going there for more than 5 years now and never seen any trouble. The odd collision but these things happen.

Hi Plev,
Glad to see you making it back to Burrum Heads. Whatever you do don,t tell anyone that Burrum Heads has the best conditions for wind & kite surfing in Aus; clear water, beach, sand bar, speed runs, waves, cold beer etc. Especially do not tell those who travel the extra hour to Elliot Heads.

There is a fishing comp on at easter (1000 entries)& for $15 you can win a tinnie with outboard.I won it 4yrs ago. Its easy.

You are welcome to my backyard to rig & party. Your shout!

Hooray for now.

Hi Hooray,
Thanks for the very hospitable invite, last trip was A1 in all respects. This time, if I have it right, you are laying on great sailing, flat or waves, clear water etc. with 1000 tinnies on it.
Oh oh yes and I could win one for myself. 1000 little boats, I'd like to see that, as we zig zag around them. Have no fear, the beer balance will be attended to as a priority of the highest order.
Looking forward 2 it.
