18 months ago returned to windsurfing after 20+ years and at shop suggestion got gekko 130, harness and 5.8 sail and since bought np 7.2 sail - really loving it !,, and doing ok in up to 20 winds and feeling pretty confident considering limited time avail limiting actual sail time in good winds. Not water starting yet - need more practice time and for now prefer just making the most of sailing time.
Frustrated with my limited gybing skills despite practicing, and feel like the gekko width and volume might be making it tricky. No other experience with other boards. Gekko feels fat and not that great into wind. Am thinking of getting a Blast, & thinking say 110 litre ?
Very keen and I'm reading as much as I can but without someone to chat to finding it v mysterious and wonder what board to get. I am 80 kg and sail Narrabeen lake / Balmoral and like to do more in ocean and get into small waves. Sorry for long note - would love some advice / suggestions.
thanks
Ross

You need friends, try catching up with some local sailors at your local and wave/ocean blasting spots. You'll find almost all windsurfers love sharing the stoke with others.
A smaller board at your weight will be beneficial, anything that 2/4 yrs old and in the buy and sell around 100/120 L will be an improvement, for the winder days.??

I would spend a whole day practicing waterstarts.
