Does any one know whether it's imperative I get a female waist harness (i'm female!) or can i go with a guys one?
Thanks!

The guy at the shop told me that the girls' ones are designed to fit girls better...

(but I don't believe much of what the guy at the shop says)

Hi Pip
I have tried on a lot of waist harnesses and I would have to say that the guys ones are really uncomfortable because they (guys) dont have a waist and guys at shops have told me small guys ones are the same but dont believe it. They hurt my ribs. I ended up getting a girls seat harness in Maui which fits just beautifully and doesnt hurt my ribs like waist ones do (even girls) There is a lot more girls gear to choose from over there because they seem to notice that girls actually do sail too. I would always get a girly one.

Hi i bought one for my sister in law for xmas and they have a higher cut out on the side to allow for the hips so the harness can fit tight and lower on the body otherwise your harness is sitting up around the rib cage. She tried on a few and found the flying objects one to be the most comfortable. Best thing is go try for yourself and you will feel the differences, most windsurfing shops will stock female harnesses these days.
