G'day all,
How fussy is everyone about how smick your fins fit in your boards??
To me if they dont fit flush with deck of board there is drag involved or can cause spin out.
Especially on slalom or speed boards it seems that fin fit is important. I saw how perfect Slowboats fins were down at Sandy Pt and he's not slow
What say everyone??
Cheers
Larko.

I will watch this thread with great interest. I have just upped my 2 sec pb to 35 kts with a borrowed fin. The fin head extends more than a mm below the deck: not even close to being flush however it went pretty quickly on my first try with the board fin combo. Since the board is new (to me) I do not have any comparison with a more flush fitting fin.
what do the experts say?
I feel sure a flush fit will be quicker: but is that by .1 kt or 3 kts

Evets, Im with you.
After witnessing what the pro's did to protect their fins at the Pit Im really curious to see what most sailors reckon is the right thing to do with expensive and highly maintained fins!!!!
So come on you speed freaks, what is your opinion on "doing the right thing" via your fins[^
