Hey

Any one got any tips on how to do this quick and easy?

At the moment I'm using plumber's tape, which is keeping the water out, but I don't think it's a good long term solution. I'm Ok at fiberglassing - but I'm not sure how to get the thread in the plug hole right.

Any ideas?

Go to your local windsurfing shop and see if they can "hellicoil" the vent hole, This entails drilling the hole slightly larger tapping a new thread in and then inserting a SS thread insert.

In perth I know WSP will do, I assume other shops will do also as it is a fairly common problem.

Best to get it done before the weather starts warming up, which is when your board will start sucking water.

Another alternative is to route the old thing out and epoxy/araldite a new one in. Stuart Bell had them last time I wanted one, but be carefull, the $%#@ thing leaked!!! it was moulded and the mould line ran right across the seal area.
