Hi Everyone. I've been out of windsurfing for about ten years and I'm thinking of a comeback. I was wondering what size sail most guys use for the 3 sails allowed in formula racing. I'm about 95Kg's and 176cm's and I raced production fun boards reasonably well for around 7 years. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

10.5-11 seems to be good for everything up to about 20knots.

Hi Gethrow,

Gestalt is right that the 10.5-11.0 is a good alrounder if you want one sail to use from 10-20 knots. Although at your size if you want to plane and go upwind easily in under 10 knots you could start to think about something a little bigger. Maybe an 11.5ish sail as it will take you up to around 15-18 knots maybe 20 once you get the swing of it. Although if you go this size you are more likely to need a second sail around the 10m size.

Where are you planning on racing as that can a big say in what size you should go for?

Hope this helps,

Sam.
