move back hand back on boom.
jump off wave/chop/ramp slightly downwind direction.
lookback in vigorous motion to your clew or whatever takes your fancy at the beach whilst sheeting in hard and throwing ones self over the handlebars.
tuck up back leg.
dont let go
round you go

As Troppo said, but close your eyes the first few times otherwise you will bail. You wont over rotate them as you are only jumping off a little wave.

If you feet come out the straps don't let go of the boom, you will land in a water start position, if you do let go it will hurt....bad

Last of all, don't think, just do!

Well I'm not sure closing your eyes is such a good idea... when I was learning I did bail it because it's a bit of a head fook jumping then going into a head first spin. By looking back at the clew of yr boom it does two things, 1) stops u bailing 2) speeds up your rotation. Tucking your back leg up... well I don't really do that, it might help. For me I found it easier jumping of a wave, some say do it on flat water, some say do a chop hop.. but the biggest tip is sheet in, slide yr back hand down the boom pull that baby in and hold on, u will rotate.

There is plenty of info/advice out there and it can get quite confusing, a lot of the tips are unnecessary. You can simplify a forward loop into a couple of points.

1.Plenty speed
2.Slide back hand down the boom towards clew
3.jump of wave/chop
4.pull/sheet in with back hand

U do that u will rotate. THEN you can worry about all the little... make sure your shoulder is perpendicular to the mast foot crapolla.

Agree with Zed but would add "head downwind off ramp". Do NOT point up off wave until you're competent in rotating. (Took me about 2 years to figure this out when doing cheese rolls).

Forwards are all about having the guts to give 'em a go. Since female pro sailors don't have b@!!s, clearly guts are the only thing needed to try.

Is anyone going to concede to a manouvre 'cos 'it's too hard', when there are 18 year old girls out there landing 'em?

Matt Pritchard said it best 'Pain is only temporary'.

P.S > Jo boo, that freewave would do loops no worries, winds up this weekend????

Yeah, but i probably wont get to ride it. Might have to have a crack on the XXX. Only 15-20 though, will probably be out on the 7.0.
