Anyone heading to Gerroa tomorrow(Tuesday)as the forecast looks ok and hopefully a bit of swell. Today looked ok, did you go out Whyner. As usual I didn't get there.
as much as possible....which hasn't been a lot The last few weekends have been good. mid-week is a bit of a stretch until daylight saving kicks in, but an extended lunch break can always be taken. NE'rs seem to be kicking in quite frequently now. only gets better from now on.
I reckon Gerroa would have been pretty awesome this arvo. I got out late (4:30) at Corrimal for an hour or so. The wind was great but the tide was so high that there was no wind at the break as the wind shadow from the sand dunes was a problem. Sail 5m past the breakers and it was 20-25kts...damn I hate that. Plus a shirtload of surfers and fairly average waves.
Gerroa was fun from 2 till 3pm but after that the NW snuffed it out and it went too offshore.Waves were not big but still good fun. I packed up and went to Warilla for about an hour but the tide was high and only a few waves in the sets.
Comrades Any one know how difficult it iss to get a job at the Bureau of Meterology ? On recent form this bunch of so called 'specialists' would have trouble predicting a sunrise
It seems last years formula off deducting 10 knots from every forecast has now changed to being 15 to 20
I notice strong wind warnings still remain in place across most of NSW ?
Yesterdays forecast 20 - 30 knot nor easters built to a solid 12 knots here in Birubi Todays forecasted 20 - 33 knot strong wind warning for early morning nor westers are currently ripping through at a massive 6 knots
Comrade Whyner... I would take any kind of wind at present... westerly, southerly, nor easter Looks like the Nobby's wind station has just spiked 18 - 24 knots.... maybe just maybe it will fill in over the sand dunes and crank through at Birubi where i can get out in the 1 foot swell !
