Hi all, im coming to WA for some windsurfing Nov-Jan and im going to buy a small wave set up, 1 board 2 sails mast boom etc as its far too expensive to bring kit from the UK.
Now thats all well and good, however im heading to NZL (Wellington most prob to find some work for pretty much all of next yr) so i'd like to take the kit bought in WA with me and sail some of the main spots in NZL.

Have you guys got any advice for getting kit from WA to an address in NZL? Iv been quoted a silly price from TNT (even with a TNT contract). Do you know of any courier service which work well for this kind of thing? How much do you recon excess bagage would be for a bag with 1 board 2sails, mast boom.....on a Quantas flight to Aukland via Sydney?

Thanks very much for any feedback and help,
cant wait to get out there in Nov, cheers Alex

Hi Alex,

I recently moved to Hong Kong and had my formula gear sent to here from Perth. I did it through Cathay Pacific Cargo. If I do it again I will make sure to send each item separately as they charge by volume, and the box required for a formula board and 520 mast was huge. It would have been cheaper again if I had shipped it by sea instead of flying it. It cost about $500 AU. But I think I could do it for a lot less after the first experience.

Good luck,

Shane
