I checked out the sypnotic charts (Im no genius at reading them) but I did notice a big low over SE QLD for Saturday...

Are we still expecting it to be good at the train on saturday?

Cheers

NNW is sailable at train, any more west than that is dodgy

NW is nice at Kirra, any more west is dodgy

Generally, anything with too much west in it is only sailable at Wellington point. Wello usually delivers good wind. Worth the trip. Takes about an hour and 10 mins to get there from currumbin. If you want to play it safe and stand a 90% chance you'll get some wind, it's the place to go for anything westish. Saturday looks like it will be the go for wello

CCheers

well when i first looked at the forecast this arvo, it said w/nw, now it says n/nw, so maybe stay here on the coast?!?!

Wait till friday night / sat morning before u decide

The launch is easy to find. Head north on the pacific freeway, take the Redlandbay turnoff and head east, drive for a few Ks and then turn left at the Mt Cotton turnoff (new traffic lights) and head north, keep going all the way on the main road (long and windy), turn right at a road called something like "Ficanae Road" (about the fourth set of traffic lights you encounter while driving north), then take next left at traffic lights, drive straight all the way till you hit water On a westerly, you sail on the left hand side as you drive down the road into the wello reserve.

I'll definately sail at Kirra. Really like the convienience. If it goes west(not likely) you just sail down to Greenmount for some excellent waves. The last big westerly was absolutely epic off Kirra Point. Down the line lefts to Coolangatta. And clear water.

Any of you have experience with the Sunshine coast in a NW.

Mooloolaba looks good on paper, quite exposed anyway.

Actually when it goes true W -> SW I've found Bongaree to be great.

I'm yet to try Wello, just didn't look that inviting when I visited.
