finaly, i think its a happening thing where does every one suggest for massive waves and e-ne winds 25-30 knots. i am dumbfounded. was thinking narrow neck but the sweep runs to fast then miami but it might be too onshore. any ideas on where to take advantage of this.

the sweep at nneck is usually southerly, so maybe it will be ok there, and ne is side shore

It's a bit early to say whether it will be NE isn't it? Like a week away?

Another site reckons the big blow will be SE... so you pays your money and takes your chance I guess.

No red arrows but FEELS like a 15-20kn NE seabreeze day. Will have to wait and see. I'm off to Margate if it blows.

slow moving over the next 24 hours.

Gales are not expected to affect the coast within the next 48 hours.

still hoping nebbian,

at the moment it's moving north.

but the good news is that the wind shear to the south is decreasing and the high down south will move off towards new zealand.

the "Guess" is that this will allow a southerly track later in the week.

but who knows.

the seabreeze forecasts (BOM) seems to show odette stalling for a few more days and then heading south again. so maybe next weekend things will be nuclear.

bloddy thing has just sat in the same spot for a week now. teasing us. waltzing around, and keeping us all on our toes.

it's just not fair. this our time of year for winds..... this is when we get to pull out the sails we haven't touched in 4 years.....

From the BOM:

TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST
SEVERE WEATHER WARNING
for Dangerous Surf and Bar Conditions.
For people in exposed coastal areas and Islands between Yeppoon and Coolangatta.

Issued at 2:45 pm on Sunday 4 March 2007

Synoptic Situation: The combination of a tropical low over the central Coral
Sea and a large high near New Zealand is generating winds which will increase
ocean swells along the coast from Monday.
E to NE swells should increase to 3 to 4 metres during Monday. These swells will
result in dangerous surf conditions and hazardous coastal bars.

The next warning is due to be issued by 10 pm Sunday

i reckon wednesday and thursday will be the most awesome days this year with mast high waves and 20 knots SE winds.

after that time to get a surfboard for a few weeks.

hey junior,

ok i'm wrong, it's wednesday only that'll go off the scale. but after that i reckon we're doomed for at least 2 weeks of doldrums.
www.dictionary.com/browse/doldrums
but hey, it's anyones guess so i figured i'd have a guess.

looking into my crystal ball all is good for the tabou and wave nats.

by that stage all the weather action should be back on the east coast of australia where it rightfully belongs at this time of year

but as curac said,

harden the fk up and be the formula man you know you want too!
