Hi i tried to regrip my boom with horrible results a few months ago and now am looking into getting it done professionally. To do it yourself it cost about $30-40 bucks. It's about $20-30 for the grip and maybe $10 for the glue. I used contact cement but i'm not sure if this was the right stuff for the job. You can get grip from hydrodynmics, stuart bell and some of the other windsurfing shops. The grip i had seemed to be too thick which made it difficult to bend around the boom properly for a nice finish.

I'm also interested in methods people have used because mine definetly wasn't succesful. One thing to take into account is that it takes ages to get all the old glue off if your picking by hand or with a knife. I'm sure you can use different chemicals but i was worried this would damage the carbon. Hope this helps

I got an aliminium boom, and i got heaps of acetone in my shed from playing around with sailing boats... that will get the glue off no worries, but dunno what it might do to the carbon

A friend of mine got his boom regriped by hydro,
It is one of the best boom repairs I have ever seen.

For all the stuffing around you do, just get it done professionally.

silvecs right, just pay for someone to do it. If you havent done it before it's a pain in the arse and you'll probably stuff it up anyway. Too much hassle.
