Forecast for this week

Being stuck at work[}:)]

I probably would be too chicken to tackle the 6 m swell anyway

6m swell but the 30-40 knots will probably take a fair chunk of the height out of it. But still it'l be a interesting day.

Myself, I'm gonna handbag out on the ocean and go onto the estuary down here, put some fresh bateries in the GPS and see if I can give my PB a nudge.

Looking at the forecast, it looks like a bit outside of my skill levels.

Had a quick squizz down your neck of the woods (bunbury?) the other day at the inlet trying to find a potential blasting spot. Any hints?

I'm working in Bunbury this week and looking for somewhere for a quick after-work sail, preferably with a bit of a wave

Where do people sail?

Alby for just going in and out stuff then the estuary near the BP servo is the go. If you want some lumps then north of bunbury there is a spot that Hardie named "roosters" that is ok. Was very good last thursday
I think the day we refer to is a bit out of a lot of peoples league but would be good to see. Might be a lot of chicken gybes

Roost

I'm trying to sus out some more speed spots, the Nth western side of the inlet looks good but going by google earth it looks to be a bit of a marathon getting there. it's a just incaes scenario if the ocean or the mandurah estuary aren't working for me.

Wrong direction today You might be better off sailing in australind or the bay Best bet is the inlet near the bp service station, launching frm the boat ramp. No waves though. Flat

Hello there,

I read about the footage. If you need webspace (and an audience) I can arrange that for you. I'm running the website www.submitavid.com and would be very happy with some good australian footage. We already heave some australian vids published: www.submitavid.com/windsurf.php?query=australia&amount=0&blogid=1

Contact me on [email protected]
mailto:[email protected] if you need some help or information.

I took a drive to "Roosters" on Saturday (no wind) to scope it. Man, some really nice waves going on there! But I spoke to some surfers who were coming ashore and they said the reef was pretty shallow.

Do you have to choose your tides carefully for that spot or is it not too shallow for a good sesh?

Seemed it would be a perfect spot in a SW with good swell. Not so sure about a NW tho.

Oh, and "chicken gybe".... is that what I call a "swimming gybe"?

A chiken gybe is what you do, when you can't handle what's coming at you,(eg mast high white water), so if you don't make the gybe, swimming is probably what you'll be doing!!!!
