After reading one of the threads it made me wonder how far people travel to their favorite or most used windsurfing spot and how long it takes to get there?

I read in one mag of a man who drove 480km with no idea if there was going to be any wind when he got there.

For me my favorite spot is about 15 mins away but generally I dont travel for more than an hour.

20min up to an hour. Sometimes in summer and hour and a half to lancelin. Go other places sometimes, but usually have accomodation if you go anywhere else.

I drive 38 seconds to my windsurfing spot every time I go, out the driveway, to bottom of my street 11 seconds, turn right drive 300 metres to the beach takes 27 seconds, 38 seconds and I'm there, and you guys reckon youse go to some effort, .................Decrepit is the only guy I know who puts in less effort!

simo, rob and myself once drove from perth to augusta (and back)to cop some good swell in one day. the only bad thing was the fact we didnt get a sail coz there was no wind anywhere on the coast(the forcast was wrong).
the night b4 the big trip we drove back from lano aswell, ariving in perth after 9pm.
i think all up we did about 800kms without a sail.

standard drive is 20min to scabs.

45min, let down tyres. Another 30min on sand (with a mate cos it's too remote to be out there by yourself.) but hey.... 1km long rides just over head high and peeling forever.
And no none of you will know where it is...... well bribes may be acceptd.

gee Rhys... now thats pretty lucky... Seeing I haven't done the drive from there to wello I wouldn't know, but Lynita if ur reading this, jump in and say cuz u'd know best... but I would say about 45 min...

If u know a guy or have a mate that kites or windsurfs at/near Wello, just stay at their place for the weekend if it looks like a nice windy one Otherwise, u will have to take the long drive there... but atm, the winds have been a shocker.... u watching the state of origin i sure hope rhys! go Qld we're in the lead now ... as predicted...
