Greens point, pt Ormond(nth end of elwood beach), and middle park(nth a little bit of St Kilda) are all good and within sight of each other.
across the bridge is Altona on the NW side of bay (20mins).
1hr away is Geelong. 1hr20min is Torquay.

when you get here go straight to a newsagent and get a Melways directory.

Actually those NWers seem to be a BOM translation for anything they are not sure of usually being westerlies.

this is OK if you like the shore break at 13th beach. I reakon the water temp is 10 degrees less in the bay than along the coast.

nearly was up for a sail in the so called SW 20-30kts on weds. at Torquay. But when the radio said it was 2.8 degrees at Geelong at midday I changed my mind (also it was westerly) drove back through Dalesford in the snow.

Tomorrows northerlies might drag me too Pt Ormond.

Or maybe the SG-1 marathon on TV1.

I am sure that since the forcasting witch hunt of that Syd-Hob race the BOM declares a strong wind warning for anthing above 5kts.
So if the BOM says15-20 then it must be formula gear stuff and 20-30 means fat freeride, 30+ = 5.8 on the wave board.

10-20 means wakeboarding in bass straight.

Hi Tony,

Couldnt agree with u more in regards to the BOM, there seems to be a real shift towards the putting the average as the strongest possible gust that may occur. Im finding the same result, unless it says 25 -35knts its only golf weather, and i dont play golf.
