Appears to be one of the ones that does not designate a year - certainly not as obvious as most Cobra serials.
Google images usually works as they change paint every year...

I found there is often an sequence check the first couple of numbers often indicate it

Because it's a windsurf company... I bet the serial number is almost an after thought. Boards are not like an electrical product where the production numbers are in the millions and the products often go through revisions while mid production. Bet yes I would agree with you. Having a meaning full serial number would be helpful.

BTW a friend of mine was looking at purchasing this particular board. It's not my board. The current owner stated the board was 5yrs old. My friend & l thought it was older, hence the reason for jumping into this site to research further information. Just wish this blasted serial number Identification process would have been a lil' more simplified.

The board's for sale on Gumtree, Bass Coast, Victoria. Looks like a great board should anyone be interested.
Fully aware that the board could have taken 5yrs in a store b4 it sold. Then a buyer, unaware of it's true age buys it as a new board which it is but really isn't.

Hence why it's so awkward with those weird complicated type "VIN" numbers similar to cars (which are relatively easy to read) aren't easy to read as on Brand name Board.

The serial number would identify the DOM(including month) how many were produced & from which factory they came from. Most (nearly all) are made o/s at the Thailand plant others in Vietnam.

See where we're coming from?

LMCT need to apply age of a car, which is a vehicle, a boat as a vessel needs same, any water craft these days has identifiable numbers tracing back origins.

63 is days in the month???
