Today was a remarkable day for a newbie windsurfer (me).
The wind was there, 20 knots and I was totally alone at Shelly bay (you should understand why this beach as this name ...)
I was sailing as a looser as usually when I decided to try the concept of moving my weight backward and tacking the sail over me.
At that point I got the EUREKA. I saw the board start to get out of the water, feeling the sailing pulling my body and going fast without getting all the bump I usually get when I sail ...
Simply amazing, guys, simply amazing.
I know it was not planning but now I got clear in my mind how it works. THe answer is: a lot of wind and a powerful arms.
Unfortunately after 30 mins my arms where so tired that I stopped, but at the end now I got, I understand how you can stay so parallel to the water, the trick the Boom <-> Mast base, only that!
Now I am really wondering how long it will take before I can really enjoy this sport ...
Tomorrow, replay!

Trust me that:
1) When I was kiting it was not the same addiction
2) I didn't imagine it was such an addiction

Whoo hoo!
Now you need a harness so your arms can last longer.

Raffaeu,
I find windsurfing is addictive because it is quite technical, despite appearing simple to the untrained eye. It takes persistance and time to master. Every little milestone stands out due to effort required to get there. There's always something left to look forward to.
