Another one of Murphy and his law situations
Just when i was about to burn my pics on a cd, my pc messed up and deleted my windsurfing photos folder FOREVER!
I've heard i can run a recovery software and might be lucky with getting them back, but have not been able to find it yet.
Anyone that can find the software, or help me out???
cheers

Of course I have checked the recycle bin! hehe, I've spent a week checking everything. What actually happened was the folder accidentaly deleted, and it was too big for the recycle bin, so it deleted it forever. I will check the link, thanks!

Rick hope you aren't hoping too highly ... your chances of recovery are pretty slim.

Just do a "google" search for undelete and you will be presented with a plethora of tools, most also give you a free trial so you can use it once and test it out.

If its been over a week and you have still be using your PC and saving new stuff to the disk, then a lot of the files will be destroyed. The way a PC writes files to a disk means that once a file is deleted, the space is open to be written too again.
Usually if you delete something permanently and then need to get it back you need to do that as quickly as possible.

However you may be lucky.... good luck.

Yes, the very act of installing the recovery software, may overwrite the files you want to recover!!!! Can you get some body to burn it to a live CD instead???? I've got a few live CDs but I don't think any of them include recovery software, wouldn't be a bad idea.

Take a look around www.convar.de
Free recovery software available there, works a treat, maybe worth the risk of over writing a few to retrieve the others.
Good luck.

First question is: what O.S are you running?? Windows or Mac??

If you are running windows you might just be in luck. Take your PC to a shop and tell them what happened. In DOS you might just be able to recover anything deleted. Unless you deleted it with some program such as Norton shred or other software that permanently delete files if not it should still be in your system

Good luck
