I am getting used to going fast on the river so am looking at starting to practise more on the ocean.

I am looking at setting a time and a place to practice a bit of slalom racing in the ocean whether it be south beach, leighton etc?
No Cost, No formal results just practice.
I was looking at just getting about 3 small anchors which are readily avaliable, attatching the large 1M balloons onto them using ski rope (as it floats and is softish) and setting up a bit of a course.

No formal organisation, no formal race directors or anything of that nature, just that everyone who joins in is expected to take a bit of the blame if anyone complains. I am thinking about races that start every 15-20 minutes or so.

What do you guys/girls think of this idea? Does it merit the effort?

Also I am looking for a few people who want to do a run from Safety Bay to leighton if not further one afternoon?

If you think Im nuts with these unique ideas I probably am, but such as life, I anjoy my sailing and thats what counts.
