Hi all,

So where is a good place to start experimenting with wave sailing?
Don't mind travelling a little, but not more than say an hour or so north/south if its worth it (for a beginner wave sailor).

Another place to try leading up to winter is Toowoon Bay on the central coast. Nice & flat on the inside, with good wave riding off the point. Very good place for learning to wave sail.Works in SSW TO ESE.

Shark Island is sailable in a Southerly and it is a good spot for learning. When you make a mistake you will learn fast not to do it again.

I have thought Toowoon Bay would be awesome to sail. Never seen any poleys there though. My Grandparents used to live about 100m from the steps at Toowoon Bay. They moved a couple of years back, due to age Still close enough to drive there in 5 minutes Only one problem, I am in WA now Maybe I should do a family visit in winter - when the forecast is good
