My favourite board is looking sad.
I just noticed the crack and line across the tail. It's a bit soft around the line but the underside looks ok.
I'm thinking about getting someone to fix it as I don't think I'll be able to get another one.

Anything is fixable. Just cost vs benefit huh.
that’s a big one so def don’t use it. And do get it fixed by someone who can vacuum bag and do it right, it’s very stressed there so a bog line and glass over will just break adjacent to the new work.

Just been talking to someone who does repairs. He's got a Carbon Art I can try. If I don't like that I can get a durable but ugly repair done..

What the unintentional ones? 😜
I hit a log ages ago but bounced over and kept going..I didn't notice any damage except the fin was really tightly wedged in the box..maybe it started there and has got worse..🙄

That would be it. Visualise the fin lifting tail up violently and board held level with the balance of mast mast pressure / planing force upwards on the midsection.

I figured if there is water getting in, a lot of water, it may cause this failure ?

I've always suspected Sue to be a cheese roll queen. She does not advertise that fact, because she does not want to hurt our feelings. But this is proof now 🤣

Yes..I'm getting a loan board re test to buy but the RS2 is like a comfy blanket that I like and trust..( silly simile(?) ) but you get my meaning. 😉😁
I'll probably get an ugly repair on the RS. Was someone joking when they named the RS slalom line? 😆
I love it's plug and play, comfort in small chop and gybing. I got rid of my 87 ltr Isonic ( faster by 1- 1.5kts) to prioritise comfort and fun.😊

I was surprised the back of the board hadn't ripped off..It was a big piece of timber and I hit it hard..Thanks goodness for raked delta fins..🙄

I disagree.
Fixed properly, the rocker line can be restored. It's probably gone -ve anyway and needs bogging.
Once the damage has been removed, the board will flex easily, vacuumed onto a rocker jig, with new sandwich, it will be as good as new.

Agree Decrepit’s post. This is an opportunity to pull the rocker back to where it should be and could end up faster

After you get the damage fixed you could ask the rocker bogger to add a little less rocker to make it go faster. If it's your top speed board. Could be worth the conversation.

So you have the original rocker jig then?

Unless you have the original rocker jig where it should be and where it was are 2 very different outcomes.…

Nope. Fast boards will be flat to 730-780mm with around 1.5-2.5mm tail kick. There is stuff- all variation in speed boards. I would vac bag the top repair with bit of steel rectangle section to hold that bottom flat and a small shim at tail. Pizza cake

What Mark says!
and anyway, it's fairly easy to see what the rocker used to be.
Unless it's a Neil Scheltima board it will be flat where that damage is.
The most important thing, is that it's not -ve, very slightly +ve won't have a lot of effect.

Or a carbon art or a mistral etc etc….anyways, not saying it cant be repaired just saying it may not be the same.

Just dropped it in to get fixed. The crease isn't right around the rails. The bottom is fine so we're just doing a band horizontally.

despite Gestalt, I doubt you'll notice much difference. especially if the fixer keeps their eye on the rocker.

I know I’d make it faster. Opportunity to have that bottom perfect.
