Maybe you, Wslave, are one of the sensible ones, having windsurfed before, so you sensibly followed the 'natural' learning progression when you moved to kites? You must admit a great many ppl do NOT.
Who me....sensible ??
Hey reiffo,
Who died and made you bosshog of Boggy Lake ?
lol
The Kooks of Hazzard County.
Where is Boggy Lake anyway....South Oz ?
But back to greenhorn kite**** in the break....
Mark knows very well that greenhorn newbie kiters don't learn in the surf.
He's just pissing in our pockets after stepping on his dick.
Newbies like the safety of the flats.
Rivers, estuaries, lakes and lagoons.....
In the mind of a noob, the world is flat.
A newbie kiter has his hands full just flying a kite.
If you added breaking surf to his erratic equation, he'd go into meltdown.
It's called sensory overload and it ends up a trainwreck.
But referring to Marks above quote:
I fully agree that alot of sailors do not follow the natural progression when stepping up to waves.
Flatwater poleys and kiters with a few seasons under their belts need to learn the drill.
Until you get your wave skills dialled, stay off the main peak and hang downwind in the junk-surf for awhile.
Happy wavesailing.
