Why did you ask this question in a windsurfing forum?

Best way to get there is to launch your kite from Port Macquarie just before dawn and head towards the rising sun.

In the afternoon the sun is at your back? What happens when the sun goes down?

If you use the search function in the forums you will be surprised at what you find.
The have been quite a few crew go there for windsurfing in the last couple of years.
My only concern would be going somewhere in the middle of winter where you still have to wear a wetsuit.
If I'm going to drop $$$ on a winter escape, it's going to be a warm, windy place (bordies & rashie). Waves also play a part in the decision.
