Whats that bloody ugly thing at Kyeemagh - May have something to do with the DeSal pipeline (f*** that was quick they only awarded the job yesterday BS!!!)- Looks like we'll have to jibe around the thing for the next couple of years[}:)].
Lets all chip in and dedicate a plaque to the first poor soul that hits it - where are all the terorists when you need them!

They may have only awarded the what ever yesterday but a guy my wife sails with has been building the desal plant for the past few months. All that rubbish about community consultation was c#@p as they had already started the thing.

I'm shocked - you mean politicians b^llsh^t to us

They have ignored (both sides) infrastructure investment for 25 yrs - & then go & give us a de-sal plant, ignore tertiary water treatment of waste water - & don't even start on energy/green/recycling/conservation/cost benefit etc etc etc

fark it, I'll go back to the fire with another glass of red
P.S. go the wallabies

I was down at Sandringham Wineman, I didn't see anything at Kyeemagh as I drove past but I wasn't really looking to be honest.

saw it today. What a ridiculous contraption. It's even got a bloody truck parked on it! And YES, it's definately in the way for when the nor easters come back in summer. It's going to make nice wind blockade for all of us that loved screaming in past the roped off beach and gybing inshore. We only have ourselves to blame though for voting Labor back in at the last election and letting them get away with approving the desal plant in the first place.
Ah well, maybe someone will drive a landrover into it and blow it up

Think about it boys, there are exactly 36 days until Saturday 1st September when the water instantly warms up to 20 degree's and the nor-easter comes in at the forecasted 15-25 knots right on schedule for the first day of spring. The platform will be re-installed 5pm Friday the 31st August, its called Murphy's Law
