Lancelin turned on perfect conditions for the "WWA Laid-Back Slalom" fleet allowing 4 rounds of figure 8 racing in 20 -25 knots of solid wind. Continuing his good form - Jesper Orth sailed consistently to win the weekend over Ant Baker and Chris Lockwood with some tight, fast racing. With a boat start 150m from shore the sailors were flying through the line on the first leg, with the usual mishaps under pressure at the first buoy. Jesper was taken out in one race by one of his team mates but with 4 rounds complete, all competitors were allowed to discard their worst result giving Jesper the win.
Full results will be posted on the WWA Website.

With the National Slalom Titles starting on the 1st of January - the Lancelin event has provided some perfect lead up practice for our guys so they should be firing when we get to South Beach.

from the links...spots

"Broadwater...The main two spots on the broadwater are the "train" and Jennifer Ave. Jennifer Ave. offers longer runs than the "train" and a bit more chop. The "train" is the most popular flat water spot on the coast with most slalom sailors sailing there."

A bit more chop?? What chop!
