Hi Woody46 Lake Munmorah is good in a southerly. Try Chain Valley Bay in a north easterly. Also Shingle Splitters Point in a north easterly over near Bonnells Bay is great too but can get bumpy. It works in a north west as well as you can sail on other side of headland so you dont get blown up Lake Macquaire.
Be aware of the razor clams. They are somewhere around Belmont and Swansea. Unlike oysters, they are not on rocks, rather they just sit in the sand just below the surface. Look out for the council signs, and ask the locals. You don't want to step on one of those. They have the name for a very good reason !!!!!!!
Thanks, for the replies, I sail lakes, mostly, was in Geraldton for a coupla months earlier this year, waves knocked the p out of me, but have come to live here, after seeing all of Oz, this place has everything by the look of it.Cheers
Hey Woody, I live in Lake Munmorah, the lake is good for a southerly as itch said also strong westerly, the better place for nor east around here is definately Mannering Park (Vales Point) which is only 5mins from here on the south end of Lake Macquarie ,gets a really good bump n jump, if you ever wanted to get into the surf there are a few easy spots to try around here aswell.
Thank Peto that,s only five mins from here(I live off Tall Timbers RD) thats not why they call me Woody, thoughmight see you guys around there sometime.
