I'd go nuts thru winter if it wasn't for my 9m Retro, 186 formula board & 65 fin
Planesin 8kn
Really lockedin fast comfortable planing at 10kn

But totaly terrifying at 15kn +

(thus the chicken strap)
There's lots that bag formula boards

(U know who U are)

But there's something about going out to sea in marginal conditions the water bluer, less chop, lots of turtles dugongs rays and dolphins to keep you company even the boaties are friendlier
Bit like the old long board days when you actually go places not just B@Fing
It's a pretty special feeling you get out there when the wind is light and your the only one out there planing in a pristine environment.
Puts a stupid smile on you dial which you can't erase for hours

Just another aspect of sailing that few get to enjoy these days
