I dunno

But for the sake of maybe 200grams I'd rather have the strongest.

A bunch of us used Ezzy's on Maui recently.
they were unreal, bomb proof, powerful and light. We thought we had them rigged good until the owner himself wandered past one arvo. Teaching his young daughter to sail at Kanaha.
He stopped and proceeded to spend a full hour and a half re-rigging each guys sail. He was so down to earth and knowledgeable, a top bloke.
What a difference!! They were so good and just felt so easy to use and it was honking.
Loved em'.

Thats quite a wrap for them Mr 43. I heard good things about them from one of your Maui posse.
Would you consider them above any other sail now?
What sizes did you use?

Prydes are just short of $1000. What a joke.
Ezzys and Severne are a few hundred less. Maybe in the 700's.
Gaastra have jumped up a bit to mid 800's I think. Same with Goya sails.
Anyone else want to add to that?
What is the cheapest/best/strongest wave sail?
I also know someone who knows someone who knows someone who would like new sails.

Simmer X-Flex. Period.

I'd think strong as or better than Ezzy, cheaper, service second to none, no bull**** serice and no questions asked warranties.

The reason I have used Simmer exclusively for 15 years.

Ive got an Ezzy Infinity 6.6 2005, my favorite sail by far, is quite light and with the option for twin cams, can be very powerful, really creates a nice shape in the lower half of the sail. Can take the cams out and used as a cam-less sail.

Brilliant design, looks good, almost 100% xply except for the vinyl window. And easy to rig.

Id recommend an Ezzy anytime, although only for general slalom, not for speed slalom.

Being an owner of a couple of Ezzy's myself I would be interested in the rigging changes too.

Gidday guys. Im no expert and it was the first time Ive ever used ezzy's.
When he first started it was basically that we had TOO much downhaul and nowhere near enough batten tension.
As David calls it, you should downhaul until the end of the "swoosh" in the second panel down.
The sails we had come with 2 different size head caps. The shop puts the long one in so that renters can get more sizes on one mast. He told us that you should only use the shortest one and try and have NO mast sticking out the top.
I think the biggest thing he was pissed off about was the batten tensioning keys. Not one sail had one, he borrowed one off a punter on the shore. He proceeded to put some serious tension on all battens. the boys went out for a run and everyone was blown away at how different they felt. Powerful but soft and forgiving.
one of the boys asked him how in previous years they had been told that you couldnt get enough downhaul on an Ezzy.
His reply: Hey, Im learning still and things change. i make mistakes.
Talk about honest!!!!
So all in all it was a huge piece of luck as we had only been there 2 days and still had 3 weeks to go. We had sizes from 4.0 (looked for 3.7 on the honking days), 4.2, 4.5, 4.7, 5.0, 5.2, 5.5 and a 5.8 on our last day. Sails cop a pounding over there with sand, sun, reef and waves. never had a problem.
He also showed us the best and easiest way to thread downhaul rope with the Ezzy cringle.
We went into the shop we rented from the next day and the owner was pissed off at us. We didnt know why but then found David Ezzy had paid them a visit and read them the riot act. Went off about the batten keys, head caps and no sail bags.
So there you go.
